What We Do Together

College Coordinates provides personalized, end-to-end college counseling for students in grades 8 through 12. Every student is different — different strengths, different goals, different definitions of the right fit — and the work reflects that. There's no formula, no one-size-fits-all list of schools, and no pressure to chase prestige for its own sake. The goal is to help each student find a college that genuinely fits, and to get there with clarity and confidence.

Academic Planning

1

The foundation of a strong application is built long before senior year. We start by reviewing your current transcript and coursework, identifying where you're excelling and where there's room to grow. From there, we help you select courses that challenge you appropriately, reflect your interests, and position you well for the schools on your list — without burning you out in the process.

Extracurriculars & Summer Planning

2

Colleges want to understand who you are beyond your GPA. We work with students to identify and pursue activities that genuinely reflect their interests and talents — not activities chosen just to check a box. We also help families think through summer opportunities that are meaningful, strategic, and right for where a student is in their development.

Standardized Testing Strategy

3

We'll help you understand which tests make sense for your profile and your school list, and when. For actual test prep, we connect you with specialized tutors we trust — people who know these tests inside and out.

Building Your College List

4

This is one of the most important parts of the process, and it's never one-and-done. We build your list together — starting with your interests, goals, and an honest assessment of your profile — and refine it over time as you learn more about yourself and the schools you're considering. The result is a list that's balanced, thoughtful, and genuinely yours.

Application Strategy

5

Timing matters. We'll walk you through the differences between Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision, and help you think through which strategy makes sense for your situation. We manage deadlines across all your applications so nothing falls through the cracks.

The College Essay

6

This is where most of the one-on-one work happens. We'll brainstorm together, work through multiple drafts, and give you detailed, honest feedback at every stage. The goal isn't a polished essay that sounds like it could have been written by anyone — it's one that sounds unmistakably like you. There's no limit to the number of rounds of feedback; we stay with it until it's right.

We also provide guidance and feedback on all supplemental essays — the school-specific responses that most colleges require in addition to the main personal statement.

Activities, Resumes & Recommendations

7

We'll help you present your extracurricular record in the clearest and most compelling way — whether that's through the Common App activities section, a resume, or both. We also coach students on how to approach teachers and other recommenders so that the letters they receive are specific, enthusiastic, and genuinely useful.

Interview Preparation

8

Many colleges offer optional — and sometimes required — interviews. We'll prepare you with practice questions, coaching on how to talk about yourself naturally, and guidance on what interviewers are actually looking for.

College Visits

9

Visiting campuses can change everything. We help families plan visits strategically — thinking through which schools to visit, when, and what to look for — so that by the time decisions roll around, you have a real sense of what each place actually feels like.

Making the Final Decision

10

Getting in is the goal, but choosing the right school is just as important. When acceptances come in, we work through the decision together — weighing your options against your goals, values, and practical considerations — so you feel confident in the choice you make.
